Steel Secretary Visits NMDC’s New State-of-the-art R&D Centre
Hyderabad, July 5, 2024: Shri Nagendra Nath Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, visited NMDC’s new state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) facility in Patancheru, Hyderabad today. The Steel Secretary reviewed the innovations, sustainable mineral processing technology, and future roadmap of the Research and Development wing. He was accompanied by Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge); Shri Vinay Kumar, Director (Technical); Shri V Suresh, Director (Commercial); Shri B Vishwanath, CVO and senior officers from NMDC. ONGC and Indian Oil Forge Strategic Partnership to Establish LNG Plant Near Hatta Gas Field ONGC and IndianOil Corporation Limited (IOCL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a small-scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant near the Hatta Gas Field in the Vindhyan Basin on 17 June 2024. The establishment of the Hatta LNG plant will significantly enhance the Vindhyan Basin’s status, upgrading it from a Category II to a Category I Basin. The MoU signing ceremony took place at Deendayal Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, attended by Director (Planning & Business Development) IOCL, Sujoy Chaudhary and Director (Exploration) ONGC, Sushma Rawat The plant will utilize cutting-edge technology to produce LNG, a cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuels, significantly reducing carbon emissions and aligning with India’s climate change mitigation goals. BHEL bags two back-to-back orders for 2×800 MW Raipur and 2×800 MW Mirzapur Supercritical Thermal Power Plants New Delhi, June 14: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured two orders for supercritical thermal power plants. The orders are cumulatively valued at over Rs.7,000 Crore. The first order for the 2×800 MW Raipur supercritical thermal power plant, being set up in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh, has been received from Adani Power Limited. The second order for the 2×800 MW Mirzapur supercritical thermal power plant, being set up in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh, has been received from MTEUPPL (a subsidiary of Adani Power Limited). BHEL’s scope in both the projects envisages manufacture and supply of main plant equipment and associated auxiliaries along with supervision of erection and commissioning. Key equipment for the projects viz. Steam Generators, Steam Turbines & Generators will be manufactured at the company’s Trichy and Haridwar plants. BHEL signs Technology Transfer Agreement with BARC for 50 kW alkaline electrolyser systems for Hydrogen production New Delhi, May 28: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered into a Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for 50 kW alkaline electrolyser systems for Hydrogen production. The well proven technology offered by BARC is indigenously developed and has high local material content. The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Jai Prakash Srivastava, Director (Engineering, Research & Development), BHEL, by Mr. K. Ravishankar, Executive Director (Corporate Technology Management and Corp R&D), BHEL and Dr. S. Adhikari, Associate Director (Knowledge Management Group), BARC.
