In the game, Afghanistan posted the lowest-ever total in the semi-finals of a T20 World Cup as they didn’t have the answer for the bowling attack of the proteas. It was very disappointing for them as this match could have probably been the biggest game of their careers. Afghanistan with a total of just 56 runs tried to defend the target but they didn’t have enough runs. Proteas bowlers including Marco Jansen with 3 wickets, Tabriz Shamsi with another 3 wickets, and Enrich Nortje with 2 wickets dismantled the batting line of Afghanistan and by registering a promising win proteas secured a spot in the FINALS of T 20 World Cup.

In the match between India and England, which was interfered with by rain in Guyana, the match was halted in between due to rain several times. Right from the beginning, Rohit Sharma played in his old form and attacked fiercely and showed that India would play attacking cricket, in the meanwhile wickets fell and Virat Kohli got out and after that, Rishabh Pant also could not stay for long. After this, Rohit Sharma, playing a big role in captaincy, made a big partnership with Suryakumar Yadav and together they added 73 runs in their partnership. Hardik Pandya scored runs very fast while playing a short innings and according to the need of the time, he played a short but very impressive innings. Ravindra Jadeja played till the end and eventually, India set a target of 172 runs for England.
From the beginning, India maintained its pressure in bowling and the first wicket fell when Axar Patel was introduced as a spin attack and it was of Jos Buttler. After that, no batsman was able to bat. After that, Kuldeep Yadav showed his spin magic and took 3 wickets. In total, Indian spin bowlers took 6 wickets, out of which 3 were taken by Axar Patel and 3 by Kuldeep Yadav. Because two wickets were taken by Jaspreet Bumrah.
