Team India become T20 Champion

ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2024

The Indian cricket team is the champions of T20 World Cup 2024 after 17 years. Indian Cricket Fans have waited for this moment for a very long time, and now Team India is standing head-to-head with England and the West Indies, the only three teams to win the title of the T20 World Cup twice.

This final played in Barbados cannot be better than this. Both teams had played their best cricket in this game and gave their all but it ended with another heartbreak for South Africa and a ride of emotions for the champions, India.

The men in blue were full of tears, crying wholeheartedly out of joy for taking that trophy home.

Time Line of The nail- biting Match

Rohit Sharma won the crucial toss on that pitch and decided to bat first without any hesitation or second thought, which had been the norm for the champions to set a strong target and defend it throughout this tournament. Virat Kohli stood like a rock but on the other hand when wickets were continuously falling from the other end. Feilding was on point by the team to save every single run they could. The fast bowling line-up once again shines bright, as they played a crucial role; some contributions with the bat have played a determining role. Overall, it was a team effort by the Indian side while ticking all the game boxes.

With a superb start from Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and gave a solid start Rohit’s wicket fell early at 9(5), and Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar went early.

Axar delivered a special knock of 47 (35), and the partnership with Kohli of 72 runs helped to find the momentum that was lost after some early wickets. After him, Shivam Dube played a fast knock of 27 runs in just 16 balls. Kohli also lost his wicket at the end after playing a most crucial knock of 76 runs of 59 deliveries to put the fighting total on board for the team of 176/7.

Proteas’ bowling line up troubled the Indian batting lineup a lot with some economical spells.

Anrich Nortje conceded only 26 runs in 4 overs with 2 wickets, Kagiso Rabada gave 36 in 4 with a wicket, and Keshav Maharaj gave 23 runs in his spell and took 2 wickets.

South Africa’s batting was strong with players like Quinton Decock 39(31), Stubbs 31(21), and David Miller 21(17), and the fastest that troubled India was Henrich Klaasen 52(27).

Indian spinners could not find a way for the wicket and conceded runs in the middle after 2 early wickets of the proteas.

Then came the fast bowling line-up that changed the momentum. Jasprit Bumrah with 2 wickets bowled an economical spell by conceding only 18. Arshdeep Singh spell of 4 overs with 2 wickets and 20 runs. Hardik Pandaya bowled 3 wickets and 20 runs in 3 overs.

Crucial Moments of the 2nd Innings

The Wicket of Henrich Klaasen dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah and economical bowling create pressure on the SA Team.

The catch of Surya Kumar Yadav on the edge of the boundary was marvelous; at that moment, India was slightly facing trouble to find a solution for the hitting off the Proteas.
