After winning the T20 World Cup, the morale of Team India was high where after the World Cup, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma decided to retire and after that, Ravindra Jadeja also decided to retire from the T20 format.

T20 Series
1ST T20
India won by 43 runs against Sri Lanka in the first T20 match of the Sri Lanka tour. Indian openers Shubman Gill (34) and Yashaswi Jaiswal (40) gave a solid start to the team reaching a solid total of 213 runs with contribution of other players also.
Suryakumar Yadav scored 58 runs in just 26 balls, and Rishabh Pant also scored 49 in 33.
Matheesha Pathirana took 4 wickets against India and was exceptional in the Sri Lankan bowling unit.
Nissanka and Kusal Mendis made 79 and 45 respectively but other batters were not able to capitalize on the start given by the openers.
Riyan Parag took 3 wickets from srilanka while Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh both took 2 wickets each on the other hand Shami and Bishnoi took 1 wicket each helping the Indian team to stop Srilanka at 170.

2ND T20I
This match didn’t end in the way that one would have expected. The result was declared by the DLS method as rain interrupted the match and made the match delayed. The target was revised for 78 runs in 8 overs for India.
Srilanka batted first and set up a target of 161 runs for India.
Kusal parera (53) , pathum nissanka (32) and kamindu mendis (26) runs made a total of 161. Indian bowlers bowled very well with Ravi Bishnoi picking up 3 wickets while Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh with 2 wickets each.
But because of rain, the match halted the target of 81 in 8 overs was completed by the contribution of Yashaswi Jaiswal (30), Hardik Pandya (22) and Suryakumar Yadav (26).
Indian won the 2nd match of the series.

3rd T20I
The collapse the Indian batting lineup struggled to put a target of 137 runs with Shubman Dill (39), Riyan parag (26) and Washington Sundar (25).
Srilankan bowlers played well as they were able to stop Indian batters below par score as Maheesh theekshana took 3 wickets, and Hasaranga took 2 wickets.
Srilanka started well with their openers with Nissanka (26), Kushal Mendis (43) and Kusal Perera (46) but their middle order struggled as Indian bowlers including Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh took 2 wickets each.
The match ended with a tie and super over took place
Sri Lanka gave a target of 3 runs with 2 wickets to India as Washington Sundar bowled a super over for India.
India chased that down in a single ball and won the match.
