87 countries participate in The Art of living’s Global Happiness Program; Mark Gurudev’s 68th Birth Anniversary
13 May 2024, Bengaluru: Lakhs of people from 87 countries embarked on their journey to better mental health and happiness as part of the Global Happiness Program organized by The Art of Living across the globe to mark the 68th birth anniversary of the organization’s founder, humanitarian leader, and global peace ambassador, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. In India, lakhs of devotees celebrated the special day immersed in service, music, and spreading happiness in their communities.
“Every day is a happy day when we are soaked in knowledge,” Gurudev shared in the public gathering attended by thousands of people from across the country at the scenic The Art of Living International Center, “When our life is dedicated to seva, satsang, sadhana, we find that every day becomes a celebration. Bring happiness to everyone. This thought “I am here to bring joy to everybody” will clear a path and make things the way you want it to be.”
As part of the Global Happiness Program, participants reported feeling happier; clear in their minds; pain and stress-free after just four days of practicing pranayamas, yoga and Sudarshan Kriya, a unique and powerful breathing technique taught in The Art of Living programs, apart from deep insights gained in the course.
Plantation drives were also organized across prisons, schools run by The Art of Living; blood donation camps, medical camps and Ayush Homa ceremonies were organized by thousands of Art of Living chapters. In Maharashtra, massive plantation drive in 68 villages of Satara district was organized by The Art of Living and Sahyadri Devrai (an initiative backed by popular actor Sayaji Shinde). A new mediation center (Gyan Kshetra) was also inaugurated in Raipur virtually at the hands of Gurudev virtually.
